Rule Chapter 5N-1

The Florida Administrative Code (FAC) Chapter 5N-1 provides further rules and regulations to complement the Florida Statutes. 

Search for Licenses

Check to see if a person is licensed (or has applied for a license) as a private investigator, private investigator intern, security officer, security officer instructor, recovery agent, recovery agent intern, recovery agent instructor, or an agency manager pursuant to Chapter 493, Florida Statutes.

Renew License

Approximately 95 days prior to the expiration date of your license, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will mail you a renewal application form with complete instructions on how to renew your license.

The link below will take you to the official FDACS page, where information can be presented online. If you are concerned about presenting your personal information, simply don't use it. ALL COMPLAINTS ARE INVESTIGATED BY FDACS! Be patient. Some complaints take time to investigate. Common problems are;

Sleeping on duty

The selling of a "G" qualification without shooting

Unlicensed activities,such as persons working without the proper "D" or "G" License

Persons acting as Agency owners who do not have the proper Agency License

Employers failing to properly uniform employees

"G" Licensed officers in uniform & carrying their firearm while performing personal functions off duty 

Working as an armed officer without the Class "G" License,but rather only a CCW
